Hey guys. I was hoping if I could get your opinion on this.

I agree with you :) Kelly more than capable of performing at those venues, she'd could sell them all out :)

"Arise Snailguin! Arise!"

people on kv can get mad at me but Kelly had to redoa tour schedule once with big venues and doesnt sell out as easy so the bigger venues probably arent going to be soon. When she was in Denver a month ago at the smaller venue I could still buy tickets the day before  the concert which has a capacity about 1/3 the size of Pepsi Center. She would sell more tickets but I dont think they would sell out and having lots of empty seats isnt for a concert. I would still go though

I think Kelly's ready,shes doing better than ever :)
PS:Todays the big day ART,good luck to the Broncos,I cant wait for Dallas pick :)

"Arise Snailguin! Arise!"

I brought this up because a majority of Kelly's competitors are performing in large venues now. Just look at Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, P!nk, Rihanna, etc. I really don't think Kelly should be left out.

In fact- The only female pop artist that can't sell out decent-sized venues is Avril Lavigne....Go figure. :smiley6:

you have a great point,i dont think she should be left out either, she CAN definatly do it.

"Arise Snailguin! Arise!"

again not to be negative but if she can sell out places like these, pepsi center being the one by me, why didnt she sell 5000 tickets and sell out the smaller venue here? Maybe in some real big cities she might have luck.

Part of it with above mentioned artist is they are still pretty new (lady gaga especially), part of it being "sexy" with shows (gaga, beyonce rihanna & katy).

It doesnt help when she lets so much time go between albums as with nothing new people out for new music buy other artist (part of avrils problem too) Taylor has but out 3 albums in about 5 yrs & bascially been touring 2 years, I have taken nieces to see her 2 yrs in a row and Kelly has only been her twice over 6 yrs

finally if you go look at the albums of each artist you will see they all have their hit album(s) they built their fanbase with and stuck with the music that made them a huge success and keep the fanbase (taylor, pink, rihanna). Kelly really hasnt had an album similar to breakaway which was her big success and makes changes with each, change music & fanbase changes so she doesnt hold all of her previous fanbase. My December was such a drastic change and lost kelly alot of her youngest fanbase and once lost not always easy to get back.

Even better. I once dreamed that Kelly would someday become so massively popular that she could embark on an All-Stadium Tour World Tour (like U2 and Madonna)! ;D

And Kelly would hit the majority of these cities-

I don't quite get it. With the exception of Kelly and Avril, Taylor Swift is the only female artist that doesn't use "sexiness" during her concerts. Yet Taylor sells out multiple nights in big arenas.

Is it because Taylor constantly puts out new music? Is it because Taylor doesn't really change her sound?

EDIT: I think Taylor incorporates elaborate stage sets, dancers, pyro, costume changes, and stage props into all her concerts. I guess all that jazz adds to her live-show appeal.

finally if you go look at the albums of each artist you will see they all have their hit album(s) they built their fanbase with and stuck with the music that made them a huge success and keep the fanbase (taylor, pink, rihanna). Are you saying that most female pop artists are able to sell out big venues because they all recycle the same sound over and over again?

Are you saying that Kelly (and Avril) has a shifting fanbase because she keeps changing her sound with every album?

I think Taylor frequently putting out albums, holding her fanbase staying country/pop country along with continually touring helps big time. She does have fancy sets & dancers but that is not what sells the tickets. I go to see the artist & at Taylor concert I had terrible seats and really didnt see much of the dancers anyhow. Taylors shows she also puts moore to it than just the next song and has a few stories and including of the fans. She didnt play many more songs but her show lasted an hour longer tha Kelly's. It helps you remember her show a little more and when she tours 2 yrs in a row you are ready to go again remembering the last one. She has put out 3 albums in 4 yrs and and album/dvd combo of her recent tour. Kelly should put out a dvd too. This is just extra exposure, keeps the fans going and following even closer

Yes the fanbases shift as the music style shifts. As I said above when she did breakaway she had fans of all ages then the change she made with her MD album was fairly drastic/big and the younger didnt get it or like it so she lost a lot of her younger and the younger got into things like hannah montana at that time that blew away MD with sales and there was a new hannah movie album every year keeping the fans while we waited about 3 yrs for Kelly. Her next album really wasnt to similar to MD so her fans of the darker music werent as much of a support. Taylor has made little change other than making it where so many songs were totally country to a pop/country but still some total country as part of the albums.

Go look at some of the most successful artist out there and you will notice they had a type of music their fans liked when having their first hit album and stuck with it. How much of a music change do you see with the beatles, rolling stones, genesis, phil collins, elvis, journey? These are all older groups from the 60's & 70's/80's that are still huge sellers today. other than the beatles & elvis all have gone on tour in the last 6-8 yrs & still sell out a lot. These classic groups cost even more to go see than current artist like Kelly & Taylor. They found their niche and stuck with it. I still buy their albums & have my nieces/nephews into it and their support continues & grows. What if rolling stones or journey tried putting out a country album or something similar to MD? It just wouldnt sell

In my opinon if Kelly would have added a few extra songs to MD such as Don't and a few similar to breakaway it would have done better and kept more of her younger fans

I would have to disagree somewhat. Legendary artists like U2 and Madonna have a history of changing their overall sound in order to keep themselves fresh. They advance their music, and never recycle the same type of music over and over again.

I admire Kelly for NOT ripping herself off with every album. Unfortunately, she just doesn't have a loyal fanbase.

I agree with you,and disagree with you.Kelly doesn have a loyal fan base, believe me.probably more loyal than those of alot of famous people. But she has seeemed to have lost SOME fans though, some people can be fickel, love you one day, hate you,or at least indifferent toward you the next, but thats gonna happen with everyone. And like you,i admire kelly for NOT ripping herslf off too
