Topic: ANNOUNCEMENT: ASK THE DORK RETIRING

At the end of this month, the DORK will be retiring.
People don't read things, and the constant flow of personal questions does not stop (questions as to Kelly's home address and email, questions of a sexual nature, etc..)

We will keep the archive around for a bit, but no more questions will be accepted after this month.

Please visit the help and suggestions forum with idea's for a replacement section to the site, and any other idea's you may have for sections to be added to the site.


PROBLEMS WITH DOWNLOADING MEDIA: 99% of the time, this is due to..
1. naviigating away from the page.. stay on the page until the download is complete.
2. clicking open instead of save: always save the zip file to your harddrive, then unzip it and load the media file
3. Download accelerators and managers: they suck, dont use them!
4. Popup blockers: they suck too, if you use one, use the one built into windows xp and set it to medium
5. firewalls: the one built into windows xp causes more problems than it prevents, disable it. If you need a firewall, get a router, or an antivirus program like norton or macafee.
6. anti-virus programs: double check your settings, make sure it's not set to block mp3, or wmv inside of archive files.

HARRASSMENT: Any member who has been harrassed on this site, by anyone, is to report it immediatly to a staff member. Try and save any messages you were sent by the person as evidence.  Every message and private message has a REPORT TO MODERATOR link on the bottom.
Members under the age of 18 will not have their names disclosed to the public if they report someone. Members over the age of 18 will be asked before names may be given to the public. Ths is due to laws and legal issues that can result from certain harrassment.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO REPORT ANY HARRASSMENT OR INNAPPROPRIATE CONDUCT AND CONTENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. ignoring it only allows it to continue. in severe cases, the authorities are notified (luckily, there has only been one such case so far).
Don't be affraid to let your parents know as well if you are under 18. You are doing the correct thing by reporting such people to them, so they can take the appropriate action and help make the internet safe for everyone. It also shows that you are responsable enough to handle situations that may occur on the internet. This site is always happy to give parents full access to see the entire site, including staff area's, for their own peice of mind, and see exactly how we do our best to keep everyone safe who visits this site.

it only takes a few to ruin things for the rest unfortunatly.

out of roughly 1000 questions asked each month, there's about 50 or so that are quesitons not asked already, or dont go into private area's, that's kind of sad actually.

Its definitly a little bit sad, but the decision is totally understandable.

We've tried to keep it going, Kelly's friendds dont want to be bombarded with the personal questions, or risk revealing too much (unintentional of course, but has happened).. I wont even get into the rather disqusting questions people submit, or the 'dork posers' that have been floating around instant messenger programs.

We're going over idea's for a new feature to replace ask the dork.. and so far, nothing exciting has come up, so everyone put your thinking caps on! We'd rather use idea's you all come up with, than what we come up with. This site is here for you guys.. so lets hear the idea's! even silly ones could lead to a good idea (we'll let you know jsut how silly it is though..haha)

meanwhile, the chatroom has been getting some use.. I will be adding an internet radio player to it at the end of the month, and there is a contest planned, a livechat trivia contest, that will be held in the chatrooms (for real prizes)..stay tuned for details and date of that one!

we have also made the staff groups less confusing..

*admins (the big bosses..lol)
*Managers (they keep the site going, handle the big problems, and help the admins with the site)
*Global Moderators (moderate and control all the forums)
*Posse moderators (moderate specific 'group/posse' forums)

We will also have some 'exclusive' stuff from the first show of the Addicted tour, which we will be sharing some of with the fan club. This will only be available to fan club members, and Kellyville members with Kelly Dolla's (pictures will be in a zip file in the message board shops, and whatever exclusive audio and video we can do). There will also be a special Podcast partially recorded from WEst PAlm Beach, Tampa, and North Carolina shows where Katie G will be in attendance.

i've said it before about personal things its private and it has nothing to do with us, sum1 mentioned about kellys mum and step dad, its just not on. they we wouldnt want our private lives being part of a gossip section.

Yeah you do. shame i loved the dork what sorta sick person would ask sexually based questions!! they shouldn't be on this site thats terrible that is the kinda stuff everybody wants to keep private so why invade in on kellys!!?
