I've been thinking about this for a while .. i never follow any artist like i would with kelly ..i basically just glue to her as if i never see another singer like her ..kelly wow me ,it just make me happy everytime i see her performce live or just a glim at her interview ... When I think of Kelly, the first female performer I think of is Stevie Nicks. Not Cher or Madonna, who as much as I like them, are more one dimensional. A true singer/songwriter just keeps on making good music and has enduring music that is considered the classics by today's standards. I believe that we will be saying the same about Kelly Clarkson 20 years from now. She evolves, changes with the times, all within her short 4 yrs of fame. And still stays true to her own music. If not singing, then writing, she's around for the long haul.I don't think there's been someone as unique and versatile as Kelly in a long while.
For me, she has the best combination ever of power, range, and most importantly versatility - she can sing anything. And she is also one of the best ever at conveying the emotion of a song. All things considered - and I know some people might consider this premature - I think she is the best female vocalist ever. What I meant by my post was not that Kelly is like Stevie Nicks specifically, but that the soul and heart of this singer/songwriter endures to this day. The essence of longevity that transcends to music now, holding her own as a classic performer/writer for tomorrow's artists. I believe Kelly is and shall be held up as a standard for future performers and writers.
