I don't necessarily agree.  Kelly is mainly played on Pop stations.  Sure, she also hits Adult Contemporary and could be classified as Rock as well, but she's mainstream Pop.

Having said that, Kelly's vocals are so far superior to Britney's that their talent isn't even in the same league.  Unfortunately, they are in the category as far as music goes so they're going to be compared to each other.

well i was reading this magazine and there is a segment called "question celebrity" or something and somebody asked that same question and he said kelly!

Well,  technically they're not COMPAIRING Kelly and Britney. They're simply saying that Kelly is BETTER than Britney. That's a compliment!
