Being healthy is more important to KELLY CLARKSON than starving on the latest fad diet. The Texas-born singer, who grew up eating pizza and burritos and sipping sodas in her school cafeterias, lays no claim to being a skinny Minnie. She will be the first to admit, she is more interested in staying healthy than in squeezing into a size 0.

So Kelly, whose "Addicted!" tour opens at the end of this month in West Palm Beach, FL, has hired a chef to create meals for her and her crew.

"She cooks anything," the first "American Idol" winner says. "It's not like a diet or anything. It's just good organic, energy food. If one person gets sick, the entire crew gets sick. It's all about just staying healthy."

As part of her diet plan, Kelly has gone cold turkey on sugary sodas and switched to vitamin water. She is so serious about the change that she has signed a deal with Glac?au's Vitaminwater? bottled beverages.

"Why I love the Vitaminwater campaign is a lot of kids just down soda and it's not good," the pop rocker explains. "Obviously, I have a lot of young fans, so that's why we teamed up. I just realized that I have a platform. If you have a voice, you might as well make it a positive one."

Working in a body-conscious business hasn't stopped Kelly from enjoying her life, even though at a petite 5 feet 3 inches, she knows a 10-pound weight gain really shows.

"I'm the type of person, who if I go on vacation to Italy or Greece, where they only eat bread and pastas, I'll gain 10 pounds then lose 10," she comments. "We're not campaigning to be the skinniest. You don't have to wear a size 2 or size 8, just be a healthy person."

Kelly's "Addicted!" tour opens at the end of this month in West Palm Beach, FL, and hits cities across the country. She'll be singing her top 10 singles "Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because of You" and the current smash, "Walk Away."
