Although I don't agree with the other three adjectives either, I really have to comment on the "useless" one . As I've stated in the "who loves math thread", If there was no maths, we wouldn't have such advanced technology as we have today (I think). So far, no-one has given good ideas yet about how computers and such would have developed without maths.

So why is it you only say math is useless? What's the use of knowing how people survived in prehistory? Or what happened in 1648? Or how volcanoes work? Or what the Earth was like a few billion years ago? Or why I am such a hair-splitter?
