hey guys, i was just wondering...
is it worth it to pay 30 bucks for a membership to kelly's official website?

I've been wondering that too. Thing is with fan clubs they say you'll get a meet & greet and all that but then once you join its a "lucky draw" thing. The fan clubs i've joined in the past haven't really been worth it, all i've got from them is the stuff in the welcome pack and a t-shirt...

I'm not a member, so I wouldn't know what are the privileges. But US$30 is too expensive for me.

Kelly's fan club doesn't have a 'welcome pack'.. all you get for $30 is a message baord and a few audio's and video's with some pics you can't get anywhere else. (plus journal entries are members only once they are archived).
The VIP tickets are usually worth it.. not much cheaper than regular tickets, but you get a garauntee they will be within certain rows.

yeah...Kelly's fan club doesn't give you a welcome pack...I just joined a few months ago and I don't think it's worth it at all.  Maybe my mind will change when the tour comes around, but right now all it gives me is a headache from all the arguments on the boards and all these people flashing their new Kelly stuff or their pictures with Kelly.  It does seem extremely unfair also because someone won a Kelly prize or something and everyone was complaining because apparently, that person had all ready won 3 meet and greets with Kelly.  It's not balanced at all.  If you have the money to blow, I guess it's worth it (the inside videos are pretty awesome) but if you think $30 is too expensive, you're right.

there will always be arguements on the fan club.. no moderators.. the last of the mderators there were someone from our staff, who suddenly, wasn't a moderator anymore when the new administrator took over (they've had 4 of those since it started in Feb 2005, including myself).
Remember the fan club is a company, echmusic.. they really dont care what fans want.. they have a contact, and provide what the contract covers.. nothing more, nothing less. Since they only charge $30 per year, that doesn't cover much of the operating expenses or salaries of those working at echo, so welcome packs, and everything else that costs money to do, isn't done.
They also have to have pre-approval from the label and management for litterally everything they do, which takes time to get on everything. then they have to pay for licenses each year (which are around $980.00 for 2007 each license).. that's jsut how official sites work.. welcome to the music industry!

no offense to the KCFC, i've been with it since the beginning. and it was great at first, i mean a really tight kelly family (like this site). but now there's way too many people now, and the posts on there is rediculous sometimes. Not to metion, there's hostility between older and younger Kelly fans on the message boards all the time. (if u'd like an example, i'd be happy to show you.) and they say you can win a meet and greet. i know people on there who've won it twice. but me, i applied 4 times for 4 different concerts, and never won once. the VIP tickets. i had 2 run in with these. the first time i was in row four, on the right hand side of the stage, which was awesome! but the second time i was in row ten, which is cool i guess, but my first concert i went to i had seats for row 8 (which means ur just as good off or better not buying vip tickets). they garuntee you rows such and such through rows such and such. but they never tell you what row ur in until u pick up the tickets at will call. so if you buy them, don't always get ur hopes up. i renewed my membership last year, and i'm sad to say this, i won't be doing it again this year. i'm staying on this site instead. i like the tight family, i reminds me of the old boards on the KCFC. plus there are plenty of mods, admins, so on and so fourth. not to mention Alan who runs this site amazingly!

so the answer to your question, no the memebership is not worth 30 bucks.

You can take my opinion or leave it. i tried to explain my experiences with the site as clear as i could, and i tried not to be negative... which i probably was once or twice. sorry about that. and if u wanna ask me any questions, feel free to pm or email me. -Rachel

wow, yeah I've heard alot of things about that site & board. I'll probably just wait 'til it gets closer to the summer or when there is a tour. anyway, this board is alot more interesting & everyone on here is sweet.

snappy.. i ran the place when it started...lol.. thats why there was no hostility.. i used to remove it (even took away board priveledges from those who consisstantly had to start fights)
even had my own fights with echo over everything they had lsited for membership, that didn't exist... i gave up...lol

from what yall said i think i am just going to stay here i love this site just cuz its about kelly but all the people like rachel said we are a family and i love it
