Topic: Avril VS Kelly

I am a big fan of both kelly and avril and i love them equally.What i am trying to say
here is that i actually prefer avril's the best darn thing over kelly's Never Again. I think
TBDT has more personality and very funky. On the other hand,Kelly's NA is too intense.What do all of
you think?I am not attacking kelly btw/

I got Avril's album and took it back it was that awful lol. All sounded the same and was just rubbish. The only decent song is Girlfriend which i downloaded in 8 different languages. I can sing the Spanish version lol

to be honest i don't like avril or her album. i used to like "girlfriend" but now it's just over-played and annoying... NA is intense, but not too intense. I love NA.

I like Girlfriend when I first heard it. But it gets old very fast. The more I listen to it the more I dislike it. I use to like Avril but I don't really know her. On the other hand, Never Again is very intense and it's doing very well on the charts. I use to like Girlfriend, I love Never Again.

I'm the same as u, a fan of them both, I was a fan of avril before I was a fan of kelly, well because she was out first, but I wud say I am a bigger fan of kelly now! Its hard to judge this because I've only heard one song off MD, but I do love all of TBDT

I bought her new album and listened to it over and over and hoped I would like most of the songs but it's just complete trash IMO, pity avril has been around longer & can't make anything decent like Kelly

Avril has a hooky annoying voice, I know She's canadian but it shouldn't come out on the record, it should sound universal like Kelly so it can be played in any country and have the same impact

e.g. Kelly doesn't sound like a Texan on Her records, She sings in a Universal tone

I'm not a fan of Avril too but you should show respect for other people who are as in love with her as we are in love with Kelly. 

She's not as talent as Kelly and the whole world sees that but her music does bring certain people joy. Relax on the bashing.

I liked avrils first album - but I found she became a bit rhymey and juvenile - so I haven't heard much from her new album! Girlfiend is ok though - I wouldn't say she is on the same level as kelly though - but she's got a kicker voice - and you can't say her voice doesn't have a universal tone - cause she has fans all over the world. Plus, even in Africa, if you mention her name everyone knows who she is and most like her! - but Kelly has more though. But Avril is very well known here. i just think she sold out - she was all, I'm not going to use my body to sell my music, or wear clothes like britney spears. but her girlfriend vid is very britney and she is wearing clothes that def. use her body to sell her music. But I like brit, and av!

I was into Avril's old stuff but she has changed her image to that blonde air-head thats in celeb-ville lately! I dont like her newer stuff that much ... but I loved her old stuff! I want the old Avril back lol

Although Kelly has a better singing ability, Avril is more unique and special(her songs).
Also I like all of Avril's Albums, "thankful" is just bad...

Also to someone who said Avril wasn't universal. Avril is probably the most well known "new" female singer, in general worldwide right now. Much more than kelly anyways...

I was talking about Voice Ability, not about how well known the artists are, I was saying that Kelly sings with a Universal Voice, A voice which sounds the same all over the world & can't be picked up as being "American etc," e.g. some Australian artists can't be picked up as Australians until someone actually says "did you know He or She is Australian?"

Avril's Canadian accent really comes out on Her records, and that's fine but when you're trying to sell music to markets all over the world, people tend to drop things which are too much overseas

it's hard to explain, but many people would understand I think, an example of a Universal Australian artist would be "Guy Sebastian" from the first Australian Idol, he can be played in any country and be enjoyed without his origin being picked up by the listener

to be honest Avril's Canadian accent is too strong and "Whatever!!" and comes off as annoying to me personally, it's too canadian ghetto to me, maybe it's just where I come from which makes me feel that way, All I can say is Avril's last album was good & had a lot of good songs, but her latest album is too Britney Spears for me

not trying to offend anyone, I'm just being honest & I'm entitled to my opinion too
