okay ive heard some of the songs from the new cd and such..
and im sorry but that does not make me feel any less of a true fan than any of you.
im not agreeing that downloading is the way to go, but i was very excited to hear the music.
and hearing the songs has made me even more excited to buy the cd.
and just because someone may have the song doesnt mean that they wont go out and buy it.
i have already preordered her cd from amazon AND on itunes..so what does that make me?

Exactly, I feel the same the way!  I am still gonna buy the cd

it's wrong to say someone isn't a true fan if they download songs illegally, and it's not what the whole thing is about, this isn't a battle over who is a true fan and who isn't, it's about trying to save music, make it cheaper and more affordable, not breaking the law, and supporting those who create the music aside from the artist (and there are alot of people involved there, without them, there would be no new albums or songs).

It's also not about whther someone will actually go buy the cd, it's about all those who won't, because they get all the songs free when they are posted all over blogs and forums, and shared with those you really don't know will buy the cd or not (you can't just take someones word for it).

it's much like shoplifting, the more it happens, the more the store has to raise prices to compensate for the loss, because now they are out the money they would have made on something they've already had to pay for themselves. Music is no differant, Kelly has to pay to make her albums and record her songs, we're talking thousands of dollars, PER SONG, by the time it's done.. that money she spends is on a studio, equipment, crew, engineers, musicians, other writers, label puts in money for marketting and promotion (that can be several thousand to a couple of million dollars right there), then there's the cd manufacturing, jacket printing, packaging, shipping, etc.. plus all the people who do it all.
That's what it's really all about, and it effects everyone down to the guy at the register at walmart when he rings up the cd you are buying. Tower records shut down after more than 30 years because of all this, sales were too low, people aren't buying much anymore. CD sales overall have dropped more than 56% sicne 1998.. that's aHUGE downfall on the entire industry, all because of ilelgal downloading, all the retailers try online sales, but that's hurting as well because of it. People in general wont pay for what they can get free.

as Kelly fans, the view is narrow, the fans see people ont he sites, and say 'we're all Kelly fans, of course we'll buy the cd'... but 'we're' is a small percentage of everyone, a very small percentage.. it's the other millions of people that need to be taken into consideration with this.

Well Kelly Always Says Go Download My Songs On The Enternet I Dont Care

So I Dont C Anything Wrong With It And Everyone Can Download Then In Bareshare Or Limewire Or Listen 2 Them On Youtube.com Or In The Enternet So Anyway Ok

I Think If Kelly Has Said This She Means That ONCE Its Released To Go And Download It Off Of Something Like iTunes Which I Was Thinking Of Doing But I Want The Actual CD.

Ok...

1st: Like 90% of the money obtained from the CD sales goes to RCA, so Kelly gets almost nothing from that.
2nd: Artists get most of the money from Tours and Live performances.

So if Kelly's music is on the internet and anyone in the world can download it for free, there are many more chances that people will listen to her music and so, will attend her tours... which will give her more money than the CD sales.

Besides there are places where Kelly is not very popular or even not known at all, and where her albums arent released, so the only way for people to listen to her is downloading her music from the internet...

So that's why Im for the free music on the Internet!

unfortunatly pupputeer, your info is a little off, artists do get more than you think, they get around 9 cents per song average, over a year, can average 6 figures easily. record labels dont get much more than that. when songs are illegally downlaoded, they sell less, the album sells less, sotres that have already pre-purhcased copies to retail out, take a huge hit as they drop the prizes below what they paid, jsut to get rid of the extra copies they have. this is what caused tower, and other record retailers, to go out of business. This effects the artist, the labels, and everyone else very badly.

From the money the artist does make, they have to pay their band, crew, etc.. as Kelly spent a week in D.C. explaining to congress.

We would be happy to have Kelly's bandmates tell ya's all this next time we chat with them, maybe people will lsiten to them, since so many are still trying to find justification for illegally downloading music.

im not saying that illegally downloading music is not wrong in some aspects... im just saying it isnt THAAAT horrible, since it has some good things too... as i explained in the former topic, it helps the artists to be knows in places where their music hasnt reached, and also helps with tours...

anyways ive bought all of her Cds and still buy most of the albums by ppl i like, however i always download them first, cause dunno about u, but i cant afford buying every CD I want...

personally, i don't really think you should download like a whole album

BUT i do think it's okay to download a song that gets cut from an album and isn't going to end up on any album or one that is released in another country that isn't available in your country. For example, Kelly's song Fading was only released in Japan, I believe (not exactly sure, but I KNOW it's not available to buy in the US), so it seems fair to download that because I would BUY it if I could, but I CAN'T. Also, the song "Go", which was only used for that one Ford thingy, is okay to download (and I think all of the Kellyville staff would agree with that, since it's available to download ON THIS SITE).

So, basically, I agree with what it says in the media section of this site: We will not post any video that can be burned and sold or audio that can be purchased.

^That is pretty much exactly how it should be.

^A fabulous blend made by juliakelly05. :smiley51:     :smiley52:
