hey everyone! i saw there was a place for singers but it was also for bands. and I don't come in this Lounge very often...so i thought i'd start a topic!

SINGERS!

first let me start off by saying, I am a singer. I've been singing since i was...well, my mom counts pre-school, but i'd say 5th grade when i got my first on stage solo. after that i've preformed on stage twice in front of 200+ people. and i sing daily at home and on the school bus home (oh yeah and to school! lol.)!

i don't think i'm that great...but people alway tell me i should keep it up, and maybe try out for idol. i think their crazy...idol would mean i'd have to be as good if not better than Kelly and Lord knows i'm not! 



but yeah...so this is going to be the singers topic! so anyone who sings (no matter where it is--shower, car, school bus, hair salon, karaoke bar, at a wedding, at a game, at a diner, where else hmm...) just post under here. we can share stories, funny ones or awesome ones. We can also talk about our favorite singer (Kelly) or other artist. We can help each other out in anyway possible. or we can just talk! lol.  -Rachel

that's awesome trying out for AI! GOOD LUCK when you do it! I'll vote for you! haha. Kelly fans all the way!!! haha, School talent shows are always fun...i forgot i did a few too, but i did dances with a couple of my firends to like nsync or backstreet boys. lol.

Do you practice at home on like a karoke machine? lol...that's what i do

I've heard you Thera...Mel put you on a CD she made for me! i think you sound fine! its good that you recorded yourself, I've only done that on my phone a couple of times, and tried to on my mp3 player...it didn't work that well! lol.

but hey, that's what singings all about, recording yourself and building off of it to get better, right? -Rachel

I really love to sing but I have two problems:

1. I am an alto! I can get relatively high for an alto, but I'm no soprano!
2. I have an EXTREME case of stage freight! I have no problem singing along with the radio, but when it comes to singing by myself, it's the scariest thing in the world. I had a solo in the musical my senior year and I kept screwing up until dress rehearsal and I finally nailed it. Everyone said I did a really good job, but the stage freight is still there!

yeah, practising makes the best of yourself so do you think i should keep on recording myself singing Kelly songs? i don't think i sound that good, i actually think i suck at singing, hehe

I'm an alto too...but i can't go high like you say you can. i'm low and a few notes in the middle.
i hope you get over your stage fright! that sucks that you have it! idk how to help you get over it...i guess just don't be shy. lol.

that's cool! My mom used to tell me the same thing...i think i bug her now singing ALL the time! lol.
Opera is so beautiful... i wish i was that good, but i'm not! lol...but to answer your question i don't sing opera...i joke about it though. lol. like sing really high. lol.

I'm planning on trying out for idol this summer but I have to find someone to drive me up there cause I don't have my license just my permit! ha

that's fun singing in the shower, for some reason i always think i sound better there. haha! anyone else feel that way? lol. Keep practicing, cause if people say you can sing, then you probably can.
