Recycle
« on: July 17, 2007, 04:08:10 PM »
People dont seem to realize what all can be recycled, yet at the same time most dont realize if they pay attention you can buy recycled products. Even just paper or some comapnies make their containers from recycle. So we should try to recycle and used products made from recycled. Buying recycled products usually makes things cheaper too.

This hleps just like others things they talked about with live earth where Kelly performed her 5 songs

i recycle as well...we have separate bins in my house for everything and the town comes and collects it every so often.  it's a great thing for people to do and it is very easy.  if you're town doesn't collect recyclables for some reason..talk to someone about it and make it happen!

^Same. I would usually just throw other magazines away, out of laziness, since the bin I have is downstairs, and my magazines and paper is upstairs. Yet, I hate my trash filling up so soon, so now I actually get up to get rid of them haha.

Oh, also how you said to look for recycled products...that reminds me, I went with my youth group to a zoo in Rhode Island and in the gift shop they sold paper "recycled from elephant poop" and that's exactly what it said on the packaging. I thought it was the weirdest thing, and no one else ever heard of such thing. It was kinda cool though, but I thought it was too weird to buy it.

I have heard of it I just recommend that if the poop is part of the recycled product make sure it is not 100%

I am still curiouse if any of the emptey water bottles and paper etc from live earth was sorted and actually recycled.

Should also check and see at the next sporting event what all they recycle. I know all the empty cans from the beer man were recelyed but the use to always announce recycle and dont anymore. Do they pick up empty plsatic bottles fans bring and leave on the ground? I will have to ask at the next game I attend.

I am to lazy to go to the recycle center so I set it out in special bins every 2 weeks and the trash company has a seperate truck that goes around and picks up recycle. I pay to have it done

I recycle quite often too, we have 2 different bins, one for normal rubbish n then another bin for garden cuttings too. I also have a big bag thing to recycle, paper, magazines and cardboard and a boz that you can put certain plastic in and glass jars. I actually dont mind doing it and sometimes take all of the cans to the recycling centre place thing (i dunno what its called lol)

There is a type of paper recycling at my office that serves 2 purposes. A lot of my work can have private information about ppl so to avoid this information being where someone can dig through my company trash and steal identity of another person all these documents are shreded by a shreding service (company) they then recycly all the shreded paper this same company shreds all information at the bank next to my office. So this helps in more ways then one

I love shredded paper. A little fantasy of mine is to fill a pool with shredded paper and then jump into it.  :P
