aw the 2 year anniversary of this topic was last Wednesday! ah we're so old.
OMG! That's so crazy! lol
Okay, so here was my incredible meet and greet experience!
At first, I couldn't find my m&g pass because the stupid lady who gave it to me didn't tell me that I had to wear it and it was POURING outside so I had hid it in my hoodie pocket and forgot it was there. LOL So I finally got through security and I don't know if it's like this with every m&g but it was pretty creepy! Like, we sat in a tent waiting for them to let us go and first the fair organizers went, then the radio winners, and then the fan club. They lead us down to like, a dark and creepy basement and down all these steps and through narrow hallways...I was seriously creeped out! So we were all in line and I was like, the 4th to last person and started talking to this girl (who was awesome and from Deleware!) and there was a door open and I could hear girls talking and all I saw was two different shoes and I was like "omg, could that be JillandKate?!" but the girl couldn't see because the door was only cracked open. Then, as we were talking, Aben walks right by us and we totally wanted to say something but he was talking to some stupid girl that he apparently new (I don't know who she thought she was!) and I was like pshht....then, out of the room came Kate!!! She is SO pretty! She went into the KC Band dressing room and came out and we looked at each other, but I didn't want to be all creepy and be like "KATE! OMGG" so I smiled and she smiled back! lol. It was great. haha.
So we're all waiting in line and it's really awkwardly set up because the line is like a straight line and then you walk around the corner to see Kelly...so none of us could see her until we got right up to the front but as we started getting closer, we could hear her talking and I literally thought I was going to pass out! lol. It was SO crazy hearing her talking but not being able to see her! It was torture! lol. And there were like 2 other girls freaking out and some guy that was fanning us down. lmfao. (btw, while we were waiting, the girl from Deleware was talking about how she felt so comfortable because everyone there knew what it felt like to love Kelly and not be judged...like, no one there thought we were creepy stalkers or anything. We just all had a mutual love for Kelly. lol. It was great.
)
So I finally got around the corner and there were like, 3 people in front of me when I saw Kelly! And I was crying. lol. Not like, hyperventilating crying but my mouth would not stop shivering! LOL It was so unreal. I am literally getting cold chills at the moment. lol. Anyway, so no one in front of me really said anything to her. They introduced themselves, took a picture, and left. It's so rushed! They just want you in and out of there. And then it was my turn!!!
Kelly: "Hi!"
Me: "Hi! I'm Carol!"
and we hugged.
Me: "Well, I really wanted to get you something but I had no clue what to get you."
(btw, no one else brought her anything! I felt so bad! Stupid PA fans.)
Kelly: "oh, no, it's cool! I have way too much stuff!"
So I have these papers in my hand and I'm handing them to her...
Kelly: "oh, are these for me?"
Me: "Well, I remember you saying before that you'd like the fans to just donate to charities, and I'm really close with the Flight 93 Fund so I donated to them because I figured it was appropriate since it's September 11th and I adopted a panda in your name and the info is being sent to your fan mail address because I didn't know what else to do with it"
See how I rambled? lol While I was saying this, you know how when she is really listening to someone her eyes get really big and you can tell that she's intently listening to what they are saying? Yeah, that's what she was doing! lol. Omg. It was crazy.
Kelly: "Oh my gosh, that's so awesome! Thank you so much!"
And she started reading the papers, and I just stood there in amazement. lol.
Kelly: "wow, that is really cool! That's so nice! I'm just going to put them over here"
And she put them on the table and we took the picture...
Kelly: "It's Carol, right?"
I pretty much died! lol
Me: "yeah...can I have another hug?" LOL
Kelly: "Of course!"
And we did one of those cheek-to-cheek hugs (you know what I mean? Like, we were facing the same direction) because I wasn't sure which way she was turning. LOL I was so nervous but it was adorable! And I was leaving and she was like
Kelly: "Thank you so much for doing that! That's awesome!"
Carol: "No problem!"
And that was that. It was so fast, but so...omg, indescribable. lol. There was so much more I wanted to say but I gave her a card with the papers because I knew I wouldn't be able to talk to her for long. Omg. I still feel like I'm on this high! lol. I can't believe it's over! And she's SO sweet! She was so genuinely grateful and super nice. omg. ahhh!
The concert was also pretty great, even though I was in the 20th row, which is SUCH a step down for me. lol. And it rained the entire time but it was still awesome! During 'Already Gone', you know how at the end she sings "Already gone...yeahh. Remember all the things we wanted, now all our memories they're haunted, we were always meant to say goodbyeee."? Well she hiccupped after she sang "yeahh" and they just totally stopped the song and didn't do the ending because she was laughing. lol. It was really cute! And before she sang "Walkin' After Midnight" she was talking about how her stepdad's name is Jimmy Leroy (I think...lol) so obviously she grew up with country music. haha. The best part was I think she's getting a lot more vocal about the whole battle for control on her records. She was saying how she had to fight for BOY to be on the record and she introduced SUBG by saying that her label said she needed a poppy song for the album. Idk.
I honestly think everyone should be forced to see her in concert because my friend who went with me only knew some of her songs from the radio and she was amazed at how great she is live. She said she would actually buy her albums if she could make an album the way she sings on tour, and I totally agree.
